The large concert hall in the Concertgebouw de Vereeniging (1915) is internationally known for its particular architectural style and acoustics. The seats were, however, in a much less graceful state, considering their condition and needed to be replaced. A new seating plan allows for better comfort and more legroom, without a decrease in the number of seats. The original seats on the second balcony from 1915 were restored and put back into place. The seating in the first balcony and the parterre are new. Changes in the seating positions in the side balconies have improved sightlines and the seating on the parterre can easily be driven away and stored for events such as pop concerts.
