“This project is contemporary with a dash of traditional. While the base is contemporary with balance, symmetry and neutrals, we have added pops of traditionality like salt in food, ‘swaad anusaar.’ The bold and colourful printed fabrics and upholstery bring out the beauty in the design,” says Ar. Ruchir Sheth while explaining their recent Interior Project of a 3BHK at Courtyard Trident, Vadodara, Gujarat.
As soon as you enter the house, you are greeted with this idol of Lord Ganesh in the foyer. With Bappa sitting right at the entrance, an inflow of positive energy in the house is almost always guaranteed. The traditional credenza and beautiful floral fabric truly enhances the beauty of the space.

The living room is where one spends a majority of their time. Keeping this in mind, the design has been kept cozy and accommodating. The chic sofas not only look great, but are also extremely comfy. The cascading center tables with marble-tops can be repositioned while serving coffee to the guests, making it a functional design element. But the highlight of this room, one that truly seeks you out, is the accent wall. The luxurious fabric in-laid with reflective bronzed glass is a showstopper. The TV unit is kept minimal and matches perfectly with the cream paneling on the walls. Of course, you cannot miss the chandelier with matching sconces that provide the perfect ambience to the room.

As one moves towards the dining room, the design scheme of the living room is carried forward to the space. The pendant light above the dining table is a cool fixture with its pastel colours. The dining table is kept minimal with a wooden base and a white ceramic top, while the back of the chairs are adorned with the same fabric as used in the accent wall in the living room, making it a seamless transition from the living room to the dining space.

The kitchen is parallel to the dining area, and an elegant breakfast bar has been designed to separate the two spaces. The modular drawers and overhead cabinets in the kitchen provide ample space for storage. The breakfast bar is accompanied by high-chairs with golden accents. The goblet-shaped lamps above the breakfast bar are perfect for the kitchen space!

The kids’ bedroom is awash in whites, creams and beiges. The floral upholstery behind the bed adds grace to the design. All the furniture in the room, be it the closet, the chest of drawers below the TV, or the bedside tables, have neat symmetrical paneling on them that add a depth to the whole design.
The upholstered wall it truly royal and fitting for this Master Bedroom. The bronzed reflective mirror surrounding the upholstered wall makes it pop even more. The furniture blends in with the paneling on the walls and is kept to a minimum with a wardrobe and a TV unit. The designer chandelier is yet another feature that adds to the opulent vibe of the room.

The headboard wall of the guest room is wainscoted with half wall paneling, while the other half boasts an upholstered traditional motif fabric.
“This home is designed and decorated by interplaying modern and traditional styles, making it a perfect fusion. The over-all vibe of the design is calm and it portrays luxury like none other. The best part, according to me, is the surprisingly bright bursts of colours in the design that makes the whole space feel alive,” concludes ID Krupal Sheth.
