CreativeCubesCo - Cremorne

Corso Interior Architecture as Architects

Corso Interior Architect Won a GOLD award for this project 2018 - Melbourne Design Awards.

The complex human brain is divided into two hemispheres. The left hemisphere is analytical…methodical…orderly…It’s honed for linear thinking and logic. The right hemisphere is visual…intuitive…imaginative…and primed for creative thinking.

CreativeCubesCo in Cremorne meshes left and right hemispheres in its community-focused workspaces that offer an alternative to conventional work environments. The venue inspires creative thinking in right brain thinkers, and grounds left brain thinkers to turn entrepreneurial visions into realities. The business prides itself on fostering an uplifting culture, experience and environment - evidenced by the inclusion of the ‘happiness team’ - concierges that look after the day-to-day needs of entrepreneurs on site.

The brief was to create a collection of flexible work places located over two levels of a prime inner-city address. There is a well-thought out balance of communal work desks, personal desks and private offices, connected via a shared kitchen, break-out lounge areas and shared meeting facilities - such as a ‘Hustle Room’ for when business gets serious.

The challenge was to work with the structural constraints of the existing building - a former office - and to design a space that nurtured creativity and connectivity while respecting moments when privacy and peace are paramount. The project budget encouraged creative design thinking in fine detail.

The result is a hub for small, medium and enterprise businesses that converts a once sterile and conservative space into a thriving ecosystem built on business and bright and bold ideas…The design is a key element of that ecosystem.

CreativeCubes.Co

Amicus as Developers

CreativeCubes.Co equip collaborative communities with a culture, a workspace and service which provides a platform for businesses to grow. With Amicus specialising in creating inspiring and innovative workspaces, and with recent experience with coworking spaces, a partnership flourished and CreativeCubes.Co engaged Amicus as their design and construct solution.

Corso Architecture was engaged as the design partner for their expertise in delivering exciting interior environments, with a key focus on how a design performs, how it looks and how it feels. Corso Architecture believe in efficiency and feel that good design is one which solves a problem. A state-of-the-art coworking space with; private offices, event space & a full-time Happiness Team. There are few offices more visually appealing and hip than CreativeCubes.Co. The design and high-quality finishes play a huge role in the energy you feel when walking in the door. Due to the nature of this emerging business, there were a variety of spaces required, private, dedicated and collaborative.

The space inspires creative thinking in right brain thinkers - Joey Corso - Design Director, Corso Architecture. This included large and small meeting rooms, boardroom style meeting rooms, open plan collaboration spaces, smaller offices for individual work and a few banks of individual work stations. It's safe to say that all work stations and styles are accommodated for in this space. The kitchen is the heart of the space and the filtered, sparkling and hot water taps a hot favourite.

Over 40 percent of its 350-seat capacity has been snapped up with members including Uber Eats, Hummingbird Superfoods and Legalite Lawyers. The facility’s state-of-the-art event space is also regularly used by advertising powerhouse REA Group and AirBNB, with plans to open a second hub in February - Property Observer.

At only two months in from its September opening, CreativeCubes.Co residency is at four times their original forecast. The space delivered for CreativeCubes.Co is a world-class collaborative work community and home to many small, medium and enterprise businesses that operate on daily, weekly, monthly and long-term basis. CreativeCubes.Co pride themselves on their first-class facility and all their members need to do is bring their own device, plug in and focus on what they do best.
