The old Abbaye Saint-Anne de Moutons is located in a particular topographical location, at the prow of a rocky outcrop overlooking the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. The Avranches town is at the origin of the first constructions on the Mount Saint-Michel, in the Middle Ages: here the presence of the rock, stone as building material makes the city a particular aesthetic.

The complexity of the project lies in the richness of the program, which consists of creating a set composed of a music school, a concert hall and a multimedia library, based around a common hall. We propose to establish a path that links the different levels of access into a common space: like a street that also links the different components of the program. In order to clear the view of the abbey, we chose to superimpose the different elements of the program: the music school is deployed on its original site, the former abbey, while the learning center comes to style the large concert hall, Benefiting from the panoramic view over the bay of Mont St Michel. It is a building that seems to emerge from the rock, integrated into a reconstituted landscape that carries an imaginary anchored in the history of the place.
