Located at street level on a sloped lot in a predominantly residential neighborhood in Canela/RS, the finishes store was designed as a neutral and welcoming space, where the products take center stage. Intended to receive clients and partners, the store functions as a meeting point and a material display area, encouraging direct contact with samples and textures.

The building’s form is defined by its roof, which organizes and shapes the internal space. Inspired by traditional roofs of the Serra Gaúcha, this element was reinterpreted with a contemporary language, giving identity to the façade and cohesion to the overall composition. A contrasting-toned portal marks the main entrance and acts as a transition between exterior and interior. The simple volumetry, combined with a neutral palette, enhances the perception of the displayed finishes, allowing the space to serve as a backdrop for the various materials presented.

From a constructive standpoint, the building is set on a reinforced concrete slab that acts as a leveling platform in relation to the street, enabling easy frontal access despite the steep slope of the terrain. Above this base, masonry construction accommodates the program and supports the wooden roof structure.

The roof tiles extend beyond the coverage, descending to clad the sides of the building. This solution provides unity to the volume and reinforces the roof as the main articulating element of the project, highlighting constructive simplicity and materiality as part of the architectural language. At the center of the volume, a lounge area with a fireplace was created, expressing the welcoming character typical of the Serra Gaúcha and strengthening the emotional connection with the region.

More than a functional space, this area invites people to stay, fosters relationships, and concludes the visitor’s experience with an atmosphere of hospitality, authenticity, and regional identity—values that guided the project from its conception.
