This office is located in the middle of the rice field. In town with a headquarters of Toyota Motor Corporation, DEN–NE office is the headquarters building of the company that work of staffing. This company is the diversified company, it has projects at the same time a lot. Therefore, communication with each other is important to them. Workers select their own place for working at a crossing point between concaved and convexed channels on the ceiling and floor affected lighting each other.

The arrangement of furniturs, accumulated information and conversation activate this point as a working space. This office has comprehensive working space including not only interiors but an outdoor environment rather than indoor rooms. The following design elements are important as making the worker’s mind confortable, sensation of the sole contacted with floor, climbing-up, glance vista, going down, etc.

Workers Temporary staff and workers, you talk to that it and private state of the business of the day. They talk like a friend on the deck space. Meeting of workers each other will be held in a raised meeting space. Characters and graphics that are left on the whiteboard is shared in our other worker. Step of the floor give a chance to the discussion of worker. There is always rice field on the other side of the deck space. While the intellectual work, they feel peaceful human landscape. Here is the office, not the office just only seek efficiency, work creatively while behave naturally. The tea time, I put the coffee in the kitchen in the middle of the office. Behavior here is the most important act of the office. At lunchtime, some workers, eat lunch by climbing the roof.

To realize a large room without partitions laminated lumbers were used as beams. The lumbers producted in Aichi were also utilized as exterior walls for the local supply and consumption as the nature friendly design. The cutting down of local cypress, we made a large section laminated wood. We were fixed combination of columns and beams on the ground in advance. Lift with a crane it, we went side by side upright on top of the foundation.

A ventilation path in a sectional planning was designed based on the suburban climate and landscape and roof vegetation was introduced for contribution resolving environmental problems. There is a canopy on top of meeting space. When the discussion was stalled, they look up at the canopy. Soft light is accumulated in the canopy. And, canopy is also a chimney. Wind blowing from the rice fields, is accelerated by the chimney. The wind is flowing even in the summer is in the office.
