From the moment you step through the front door, it’s clear that Dottir shatters every spatial stereotype associated with the legal profession. The first impression creates an intriguing contradiction — have I entered a law firm or a contemporary art gallery? Designed by KOKO3, the space replaces the traditional atmosphere of polished wood and leather with a raw, minimalist aesthetic. This bold, boundary-pushing attitude has been part of Dottir’s DNA from the very beginning. Over the past decade, Dottir has been one of Finland’s fastest-growing business law firms, known for advising technology and growth companies and for shaking up the conventions of corporate law.
At its Helsinki office, a team of over 50 professionals works in a space where movement is constant. There are no assigned workstations, and most of the furniture is on wheels, allowing the space to be quickly transformed into an event venue, a seminar room, or even the perfect setting for pre-Flow Festival gatherings. The result of this transformation is distinctly bold, breaking away from conventional law firm clichés — Dottir is more than happy to leave those to others.
