Brooke Aitken transformed this heritage and spacious Double Bay apartment with a brief that aimed to upgrade the residence with soft elegance. The property features two bedrooms with a large formal living area that connects to a formal dining room overlooking the beautiful Double Bay waterfront. Aitken worked with the existing uniquely shaped rooms to build an interior decor aesthetic that unified contemporary features with existing classical heritage detailing.

The new design showcased distinguished furniture pieces, colourful decor, and vibrant artwork. The project primarily focused on interior decoration, however minor renovations were completed so the architecture flowed in tandem with the new design. The flooring was redone in a Herringbone composition, the room walls were all painted, and window treatments completed, all of which elevated the space with modern elegance.

The interior styling was combined with a range of the client’s existing artwork and furniture. Brooke added a selection of furniture that she sourced from around the globe whilst existing furniture was reupholstered to seamlessly blend in with the new design of the apartment, bringing a balance of old and new.
