The expansion of the Edelstahlservice headquarters in Sulz am Neckar creates the foundation for future growth while significantly improving operational efficiency. Designed as a seamless extension of the existing facility, the new two-storey building combines production and warehouse functions within approximately 2,500 square metres of floor area.
The architecture follows a clear industrial language that prioritises functionality, efficient workflows and long-term adaptability. By directly connecting the new building to the existing complex, internal transport distances are minimised and production and logistics processes are streamlined throughout the entire value chain.
Sustainability was an integral part of the project from the earliest planning stages. Rather than removing excavated soil from the site, all material was reused to form the base for a newly landscaped logistics yard with 47 parking spaces, significantly reducing transport and resource consumption during construction.
The building's energy concept combines high-performance ventilation and extraction systems with heat recovery technology to reduce operational energy demand. A rooftop photovoltaic system with an output of approximately 190 kWp further contributes to the building's sustainable performance and supports renewable on-site energy generation.
Completed between 2024 and 2025, the project demonstrates how industrial architecture can successfully combine efficient production environments, sustainable resource management and a coherent architectural integration into an existing manufacturing campus.
