Edificio residenziale

Edificio residenziale

Giorgieri Studio as Architects

The most characteristic element of this project is the presence of large double volume loggias which, in addition to articulating the composition of the building, detaching it from the typical composition of multi-storey residential buildings, allows the greenery to be adequately housed, which is "raised" from the ground up to the top floor of the building, as is typical of the best constructions of the twentieth century in Milan.

We believe that the use of greenery as designed, proposes a reversal of roles with the building construction, as the building tends to become not the main object of the project, but almost a structure. Both the building and the settlement are enriched by the presence of greenery.

The building is enhanced by fine finishes characterized by natural materials such as wood and stone and imagined as a sort of vertical park where large terraces open to accommodate tall trees. The chromatic declination and finishes of the various parts of the building are emphasised by the light that enhances the nuances of wood, stone and glass.

The facades are characterized by a sliding shielding system defined by wooden slats in different colors. This system gives a great variety to the outer shell of the building, which is always different depending on the light and the use of living. The articulation of the facades and the different heights and depths of the loggias allow for a balance between voids and solids that allow us to read the internal destination of the spaces.
