Water, a poetic touch to urban life. The project is located on the bank of the Zhangxing (palm shaped) Lake in Shanghai. As a unique natural element, water has become the inspiration and theme of this design.

The sun light is reflected back into the air after touching the surface of the lake, breaking into floating and elegant colours. Inspired by this beautiful scene, the stairs at the entrance and exit are designed with some exaggeration to give visitors a sense of ritual. The meandering lines of the building have created a sense of place, which is light and elegant while maintaining a strong tension of design. The concept of water is reinforced by the background decorative wall through its water wave patterns. Walking in the space is like dancing on the water. The ceiling runs through the entire space and is styled with curve lines, echoing with the water theme. The view of outdoor greenery is maximized through large floor-to-ceiling glass, achieving full interaction between indoor and outdoor objects.

The agility of water, the azure blue of the sky and the fresh green of the vegetation are combined to foster an environment of leisurely lifestyle, a gift to the city dwellers. The project outlines an ideal way of life through such innovative design details, attracting people to spend time and feel the true nature of life here.
