Flat by the Park

This residence enjoys a privileged location next to El Retiro Park, within a strikingly ambitious building whose footprint is gradually reduced on each level to ensure that all units benefit from generous terraces. The intervention in one of these homes sought to preserve the already splendid conditions of natural light and connection to the outdoors, while creating a domestic setting designed to fully enjoy that direct relationship with the open air.

A clear distinction between the five main spaces and the rest of the functional areas allows for the strategic navigation of structural columns and complex installations in a building where each floor has a different layout.

Concealed sliding doors and foldable wooden panels introduce moments of surprise in otherwise simple spaces, creating unexpected spatial relationships.

Birch wood plays a central role throughout the home, adding warmth to the varying light conditions and embracing small, intimate corners. The contrast between the central, bright white areas and the complementary, warm wood-clad spaces absorbs the irregularities of the floor plan and establishes a clear hierarchy between primary and secondary spaces.
