The aim is to clean up the public street space and calm it down in terms of design. This will be achieved by reducing the amount of street furniture and by a them at selected locations. The public space will be made available to all visitors to the historic old townwith the greatest possible degree of accessibility. This leads to a sustainable increase in the quality of the stay. Continuous granite pavement defines the old town floor as a homogeneous surface. The fountain remains in its place and is accentuated with a frieze in the town floor. New tree plantings are otherwise deliberately avoided in the sense of the stone old town, with the exception of a tree roof on the fruit market.
