Gastronomic object "Promenada" in Tychy

RS+ Robert Skitek as Architects

After finishing the development  of the east side Paprocany lake shore and removal of temporary odd gastronomic objects we were asked by the land manager MOSiR to create the concept of a permanent small  building located next to the promenade.

The building was designed so that its mass is not obscured view of the entrance to the promenade and match to the landscape. This objective is achieved by creating a building plan in relation to the curvature of the adjacent tracks. The building has two arched walls, which meet in a sharp angle, giving slim look at the ends . The elevations are covered with polished stainless steel and slanted wooden balls. The use of stainless steel through reflection can blend in the surrounding landscape and the sloping wooden elements refer to existing elements of the promenade and dividing  facades to a smaller parts breaking the monotony.

The building was built in 2016 by a private investor - a network of cafe and ice cream parlor Fast-Coffee.
