The small glass covering provides a shelter for the facing cafe, and a connection to the inner courtyard. Its metal structure follows a non orthogonal geometry, and aims to a sense of lightness and cozyness. The inner beams are deliberately exaggerated a little bit in their dimensions, and scaled to match the ring on the perimeter, as a difference in sizes would have distracted the perception of the viewer.

The new structure it’s not trying to fit into the space by mimic or absence. On the contrary, the alien is there to provide a shelter and to establish a new sense of place.
