Hacienda Del Sol Residence has several design and feasibility restrictions such as a maximum parapet height of 13‘-0“. With sharp natural grade changes, the structure combats the rigidity of the site through strategic planning, retaining walls and reinforcements. With large portion of the house dedicated to visiting grown-up children, the floor plan layout is seemingly two seporate spaces, connected only through a central hall and living area. The commonly occupied portion of the house is made operable to the outside where a large backyard meets Sonoran Desert.
