Haute-couture

Haute-couture

Lorenzo Quaccia as Architects

The composition of this facade is meant to be geometrical and powerful, unpredictable and changing. It deludes pedestrians into seeing a three-dimensional faceted facade, alike to a wide twisted metal sheet. The wall is wearing the aluminium coat like a haute-couture creation, falling over from the ridge purlin down to the ground. With its chiselled cloth of metallic material, it depicts the image of a manufacturer, a savoir-faire and a company which main activity is to dress buildings. By means of this design, Euramax and its innovative facade technology Aludesign is embodied in a patchwork of blue shades coated on the shear wall of its factory.

The sharp shape of the woven wall design will emphasize the presence of the company so as to cope with the plain industrial area, and be its beacon. The mesh is irregularly woven, thus providing energy to the wall, and standing out from the usual industrial discipline, as the products of Euramax. The wall design tricks the eyes of the pedestrians, who do not know what they should believe to see; either the actual reflection of the high gloss surface or the faceted drawing? Therefore, light is fully considered as a raw material for modelling the facade.

Ultimately, the wall design that I offer to you is intended to dress the wall for emphasizing its shape, and for catching attention on the company.
