The task was to design different housing typologies for two new Helsinki waterfront districts under development. Eriksson Architects won 2nd prize, with the signature “Sydänsimpukka”.
The block consists of housing companies with 4-6 apartments, where for example acquaintances can buy a whole housing company or one family can search through the web for like-minded families to share the townhouse community. The idea is a real community where people want to share sauna and laundry rooms and therefore reduce the carbon footprint.
