Hidden Gem

Studio Esar as Interior Architects

Hidden Gem is a dining and living room where the clients can entertain friends, turn up the music and dance the night away. Dialling up the opulence of the decorative design, the plush and seductive room offers a saturated and tactile sensory experience where every touchpoint was highly considered.

The clients engaged Studio Esar to transform the formal Living & Dining room in their California Bungalow into a luxurious space for adults only. They were open to exploring ideas and to pushing the limits with textural materials and daring colours. Incorporating the clients’ decorative objects and artworks, rejuvenating heirloom furniture and selecting new pieces has created a contemporary and glamourous room inspired by the client’s eclectic taste.

The tonal colour of the walls and floor creates an immersive, intoxicating space distinct from the other rooms in the house. Decorative objects have intriguing forms and textures, and range from voluptuous metal and glass to ceramics that are beautiful and gritty.
