The architecture:
Austrians famed chef Toni Mörwald was able to secure the services of award-winning architect Christian Prasser for the planning of his new hideaway in Feuersbrunn. The architectural office cp architecture has a reputation for exceptional innovative projects in the hotel sector, and has already completed ventures like the Stollhof conference hotel at the foot of the Hohe Wand near Vienna (2014 Iconic Award), the Blaue Gans Art Hotel in Salzburg, and the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Post in Lech am Arlberg.
With great attention to detail and respect for the local historic architecture, the Viennese architect envisaged an extension to the existing premises for the “Hotel am Wagram”. The reception, lobby, shop and offices are located on the ground floor, the central section of which was completely remodelled. The guest rooms and wellness area are situated on the upper floors. Two suites on the second floor are aligned north-south, offering an unrestricted view of Wagram, and to the South in good visibility of the Ötscher mountain. These parts of the building reflect the villagey nature of their surroundings, the silhouette of the roof landscape mimicking the shape of the gabled houses so typical of Wagram’s cellar lanes. The elaborate structures are somehow reminiscent of a village square.
The interior design was developed in close cooperation with steininger.designers, a family-owned business in the Mühlviertel region. Martin Steininger is well known for his interior designs of purist modernity and luxurious simplicity whose function is concealed behind their linear beauty. The entire construction project was carried out mainly with local contractors.
