This recovery intervention on an attic area has residential purposes, and instead of being simply an uncritical application of the current legislation it appears to be a real opportunity to create a small urban piece of architecture. The new volume, although limited in size, develops the theme of the house on the roof and at the same time it also expands that of completeness. On the one hand, it is structured relatively autonomously from a technological and ostensible point of view, compared to the characteristics of the building below. On the other hand, it reinterprets the historical building's typical décor and materials. Thus, while continuity and familiarity with the existing building have been preserved, the house on the roof remains within the standards of contemporary architectural language.
