The project concerns a 120m2 apartment, located on the top floor of a 1980s residential building in the province of Milan. The owners are a young couple who love contemporary design, who wanted to support a radical renovation of the spaces, aiming for a perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality. The project involved a major revision of the internal spaces, while maintaining the original layout, but improving its usability.
The floor plan of the house prior to the renovation works was the result of the merger of two separate apartments.

The double access from the old layout has been maintained: the main entrance to the living room and the service entrance to the kitchen pantry. Numerous demolitions and the construction of new partitions to update the spaces. Light glass partitions were used to separate some rooms, such as between the kitchen and dining room and between the double bedroom and walk-in wardrobe.

The entire house features custom-designed furnishings, perfectly integrated with the architecture. The main entrance to the house is on the large living room and is inserted inside a long equipped wall, which includes the low storage unit with open shelves illuminated with LEDs, the wall with vertical slat motifs that frames the sliding glass door of the kitchen, the wooden boiserie with flush door to access the hallway of the sleeping area. The very long living room has been divided into two parts by a large double-sided furnishing element, which towards the side of the sofas acts as a TV cabinet, equipped with a wooden container for storing game consoles and multimedia, towards the table side dining table is a piece of furniture to hold plates and glasses. This large piece of furniture maintains its lightness thanks to the glass shelves, positioned in its upper part, which allow communication between the spaces.

The dining area is characterized by a table to be used for family meals and with guests, which is in direct communication with the kitchen through sliding glass doors that open onto the kitchen.
These large sliding windows allow you to separate the kitchen space from the living room if necessary, but, when open, they make the space fluid and communicating.
The kitchen is L-shaped, custom-designed, and is characterized by the sage green color of the base units and wall units and the dark gray of the columns. The top is in white ceramic, with backlit magnetic glass splashback (magnetolab). The kitchen combines contemporary, minimal design and country taste, which is found in the doors that recall the ashlar doors of traditional English and Provençal kitchens.

The colors of the living area are in soft and neutral tones of light grey, beige, white and sage green with darker contrasting notes, such as the anthracite tones of the table and some furnishings, up to the black of the door frames and of the Flos lamps in the living area.
The conversation corner is characterized by a large sofa with chaise-longue and the famous Archibald by Poltrona Frau. The wall on which the sofa stands is a scenographic backdrop, decorated by hand and depicting a forest in shades of green and grey.
In the hallway towards the sleeping area, wardrobes have been designed which function as a wardrobe and shoe rack to make the most of the space.

The main bedroom was designed as a large suite, with an internal bathroom, walk-in closet and study corner. The herringbone parquet and the backlit wall lamps are decorative elements that stand out in the simplicity and minimalism of the room.
The headboard of the bed was designed and made to measure. The drawers, with 45° joints, have a very clean and no-frills design. The headboard is characterized by LED backlighting which allows you to modulate the brightness level of the room if necessary. The round backlit wall lights become an element of wall decoration.
Numerous wardrobes to be able to correctly respond to customer needs.

The color blue most characterizes this area and is found in the furnishings and marble-effect tiles used in the en-suite bathroom.
The corner with desk located in the walk-in closet is a transversal and flexible space designed to be used for working or putting on make-up comfortably.
