The interior of a 1970s bungalow was subtly yet substantially ‘touched up’, resulting in a light renovation. A non-original balustrade was removed and the worn-out interiors were revived with high-end, timeless finishes. Wooden window frames and wall panelling, sometimes concealing a door, brings the house its warm atmosphere.
The renovation revealed an exposed concrete formwork on the ceiling, a special detail that was left bare, adding a brutalist touch to the house. The kitchen corner was finished in brass, walnut and dark, veined Italian marble, and the teardrop shape of the breakfast nook echoes the curves of the bathroom cabinetry.
