Iki Koue is a one-of-a-kind retail space specializing in Indonesian traditional cakes, located in the vibrant Ashta 8 District of South Jakarta. Despite its compact 15-square-meter footprint, the shop makes a bold visual statement through a distinctive design that engages visitors from all angles, offering three unique perspectives that draw attention and invite exploration.
At the heart of the design is the striking front display island, a modern reinterpretation of the traditional cake basket. With its sleek, contemporary lines, this centerpiece serves as both a functional display for the shop’s offerings and a symbolic homage to Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage. The display island seamlessly bridges tradition and modernity, aligning perfectly with Iki Koue’s identity as a brand rooted in heritage yet forward-looking in presentation.

The shop’s cultural narrative is further enhanced by the use of Tegel Kunci, a traditional local tile that serves as the shop’s floor finish. These intricately patterned tiles not only celebrate Indonesian craftsmanship but also establish a warm, inviting atmosphere that resonates with the brand’s ethos. Together with the display island, the tiles create a cohesive and memorable aesthetic that invites customers to linger, explore, and connect with the essence of Iki Koue.
This thoughtful integration of cultural elements with modern design ensures that Iki Koue is more than just a retail space—it’s an immersive experience that celebrates Indonesia’s culinary and design heritage in a way that feels fresh, contemporary, and irresistibly inviting.
