Studio Marco Piva’s project for “Il Vizio' restaurant, inside the Hotel Sina De La Ville in the heart of Milan, was inspired by a thematic journey that goes from East to West.
The restyling operation, spread over the two levels plus a basement of the restaurant and its lounge bistrot, has kept the original historical layout unchanged.
The concept is inspired both by Japanese and Italian cuisine and culture, with a careful choice of materials and colors for the furnitures and coverings that combines typically Milanese tones with oriental ones, generating an intimate and comfortable atmosphere that welcome the guest in a context strongly charged with emblematic symbols of the two cultures.
Among the materials, the brilliance of green velvets predominate in contrast to monumental stoneware with a Verde Alpi and Breccia Rosa marble effect, combined with pleated cannetati that mark the scenographic rhythm of the spaces.
Large full-thickness fine porcelain stoneware slabs form the backdrop to the existing niches and welcome the spectacular custom-made wine cellars.
A play of contemporary lights emphasizes colors and furnishings, lightens and frames the play of textile boiseries in shades of gray and beige. The light is mixed with decorative and technical choices that make the environment welcoming and functional.
In the cuisine, the excellence of Sushi is combined with an elegant and contemporary Italian one, so the restyling operation was aimed at interpreting the mix of cultural contaminations through a sober, warm and welcoming style with contemporary accents, emphasizing, at the same time, the rigor of Japanese cuisine, giving as a final result a relaxing and dynamic effect which harmoniously integrates the two souls of the restaurant, local and at the same time international.
