Located in the heart of the Latino community, INSTITUTO Del Progreso Latino is proposing the development of the INSTITUTO Health Sciences Career Academy to serve up to 600 youth, grades 9 to 12 from Chicago's southwest communities. The proposed school will prepare students for success in colleges and universities and provide them with industry recognized credentials in the healthcare sector. The proposed school will serve as a focal point for the community in health-related issues.
The project was completed in September, 2011 and is currently pursuing LEED Silver Certification. The project team included JGMA as design architect, McShane Construction Company as design builder and Ghafari Associates as architect of record.
