From the Emotional to the Artificial
The installation proposes a dialogue between two ways of understanding and constructing our environment: that which grows and that which we calculate. This installation (territory) engages in dialogue with, and serves as a backdrop for, objects selected on the basis of a convergence between nature and technology.
A territory that bears the traces of time and growth, yet whose orthogonal layout reveals a nature that has already been interpreted, represented by a grid that forms a topography measured and shaped by humankind. Upon this emerges a second nature, that of the intellect: an articulated structure whose parametric skin translates the invisible logic of sound into matter. Waves and frequencies transform a regular geometry, just as the word is transformed into information, language and thought.
Both worlds share the same tone. This is no accident: they also express a common logic built upon representations of geometric intervention. Nature ordered by humankind and technology conceived by humankind thus belong to the same logic of transformation.
The work explores a continuum between emotional and artificial intelligence, between humanism and increasingly autonomous technology. Perhaps the challenge lies not in choosing between these two natures, but in deciding how to allow ourselves to be shaped by each of them.
Curatorial Selection
The curatorial criteria recognise a selection in which the origin of the objects, the reflections they evoke and their material nature illustrate the fascinating dialogue between technology and nature. In some works, the compositional focus reveals an association with technological features, whilst in others, the manufacturing process highlights the natural origin of the raw materials.
