Located within Singapore’s District 10 residential enclave, Juniper Hill comprises 115 apartments within a single 12-storey building on a compact 5,619-square-metre site.

Rather than presenting the development as one continuous residential slab, the building is divided into a series of vertical volumes. Recesses between them reduce its perceived scale, introduce depth across the elevations and create a more measured relationship with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Projecting balconies, framed sections of glazing and darker vertical elements reinforce this composition, allowing individual homes to remain legible within the larger architectural form. The balconies extend the living spaces outdoors while providing shade and variation across the façade.

The residential accommodation is raised above the ground plane, allowing the lower level to accommodate shared amenities, landscaped areas and spaces for recreation and social interaction. This separation gives the communal areas a more open character while maintaining privacy within the apartments above.

Landscape extends beyond the site perimeter through gardens, terraces and shared outdoor spaces at different levels. Established planting forms a layered foreground when viewed from the street, while landscaped routes connect spaces for activity, gathering and retreat within the development.

The building’s orientation and apartment arrangement respond to Singapore’s tropical climate by supporting access to natural daylight and cross-ventilation. Deep balconies and the articulated façade help limit direct solar exposure, while the massing maintains views towards the greenery of the Bukit Timah and Tanglin neighbourhoods.

Glazed elevations reflect changing light conditions, while dark framing elements contrast with warmer tones applied to selected vertical surfaces. The resulting architectural language is shaped by proportion, shadow and repetition rather than applied decoration.

Completed in 2025, Juniper Hill demonstrates how a compact residential development can balance density, privacy and access to landscape. Its environmental and inclusive-design strategies have been recognised with BCA Green Mark Gold Plus and BCA Universal Design Mark Gold certifications. The project also received the Best Boutique Condo Landscape Architectural Design award at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.
