Lead8 is the retail design architect and retail planner for the future K11 ELYSEA; a landmark cultural, artistic and luxury district by New World China Land Limited.
The development is set to become the future heart of the city’s cultural district – a celebration of historic glamour, artistry and modernity in Shanghai.
Located within the prime Huaihai Road Commercial Circle, the destination has been designed as a cultural experience in nature with living gardens surrounded by history, retail, dining, and art. The development features a series of individual brand ‘maisons’, elevating luxury retail with one-of-a-kind opportunities to deliver immersive experiences.
The destination intends to become a museum for architectural craftsmanship, celebrating an innovative fusion of East and West design. Historical buildings have been preserved on the site and carefully incorporated, including former French Concession Police Buildings, Fire Stations and laneways dating back to the 1900s.
The French Concession’s characteristic pitch roofs and neighbouring Huaihai Park, have inspired a continuous green ridge through the development, providing a strong connection to nature alongside the development’s sustainability credentials. The destination has been designed to meet the requirements of a ‘sponge city’ and the certification criteria of China Green Building Label Three-star, LEED Platinum and WELL Gold.
