The design for this pharmacy was commissioned by Bouwaccent on behalf of the municipality of Tilburg. The pharmacy is located in the middle of a wood in grounds of the former Trappist Abbey of Koningsoord in Berkel-Enschot.

The building is situated next to an old right-angled outhouse in the Abbey complex, which now houses a doctors’ surgery. The pharmacy is also designed in the shape of a right-angle and is situated between the two wings of the outhouse, creating a private courtyard garden between the two buildings.

The facade of the building is made up of alternating sections consisting of glass panels from floor to eaves and aluminium cladding. The texture and colour of the aluminium cladding alludes to the bark of the surrounding trees. Mounted behind the glass facade is an eased frame which carries the name of the pharmacy. The pharmacy cabinets are also suspended from this eased frame.

The glass and aluminium sections of the pharmacy facade contrast with the architecture of the abbey. The building is largely transparent, making the activities of the pharmacists visible from the outside. Bedaux de Brouwer Architects designed the building as a modern orangery attached to the abbey complex. The building is part of the wider developments in and around the former Koningsoord Abbey.
