The square in Chernivtsi is the only full-fledged public space in Ukraine designed and implemented during the war. A cozy piece of nature in the center of the city, where everyone can relax, body and soul. We wanted to turn this park, a historical location adjacent to the architectural monuments - the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Lyceum, into a calming space of rest, which will contrast against the background of the modern active city center. It was essential to illuminate it not too brightly so as not to emphasize the small size of the territory and to add exciting chips to it, making this place top among the townspeople.

We installed adjustable lights with different optics on high supports to get natural shadows from the selected most beautiful branches and leaves, which we complemented with artificial shades thanks to our stencils. Due to the hidden light below eye level, we created a comfortable and cozy atmosphere for people, as if they were in the middle of the forest under the benches.

But everything is not so simple! Our stencils are of different sizes and designs. We were able to calculate the individual placement, size, and stencil pattern for each fixture to have the perfect pattern on the track. Even the body of the lamp itself was designed by us - with moving parts so that the pattern's scale can be easily adjusted.
We made one of the paths of the square brighter so that everyone could choose where they would be more comfortable spending time - on the brilliant promenade part or take a few steps to the side and find themselves in a completely different space for relaxation and urban meditation.

This part of the square was decorated with a unique installation, "Breathing Trees." Each lamp in this zone is individually controlled by our cloud server Expolight Cloud Control System. They asynchronously smoke and change color, adjusting to specially selected relaxing ambient music with natural sounds. Music enhances the state of peace and relaxation that a person feels in a unique city urban-meditation zone.

Another feature of the square is the monument to Franz Joseph. To illuminate it, we placed diagonally four sides lamps with different optics, which smoked asymmetrically and adjusted in such a way that it was three-dimensional. And from the platform around it, we made a starry sky, which became one of the main selfie points and the main point of interest for children.
