The project consists in an intervention for a house built in the early 80´s. This house was a topological model developed for a middle-class subdivision, where the models had been preset for sale before they have an owner. The house had undergone a previous series of small changes, some of which a small outdoor area had been transformed into solid ground as the entire front of the field and in the garage of the house. Yet housing kept the walls and structure from its original state only by changes in periodic painting and maintenance. The original request was to build a deck and a physical limit to the garage for a car for reasons of comfort and safety. The proposal was on the total regeneration of the urban front of the house, giving better pedestrian scale at around the front of the land (formerly confined to a small grate) and generate a solid framework for a permeable membrane as a new facade that would give protection to the living room area and the adjacent side generate pedestrian access and vehicular access would have the new roof. It was thought to generate a rhythm with long items, both to cover the exterior walls, as well as the front-side patio. The result was a series of bars made of metal with each other with long pieces of wood. The idea was to make a wooden box to hold the car and this was in turn contained by a frame structure that limits the facade. To generate the input light is chosen in the front chain-link fence screening serve as a filter for light, while providing security to that part of the living room of the house. On the cover was decided to open holes in the long pieces of wood where the light is also filtered into the interior. The shape of the roof is the shape of the existing roof of the house, creating a break in the deck, changing the top of the wooden box for the car. Floors have a special definition for each part of the intervention: gray concrete for the sidewalk outside, gravel quarry to the courtyard formed between the room and the new metal membrane of the façade (this court represents the remains of that original green space lost with the previous amendments of the house), ceramic black for the corridor pedestrian access to housing and non-skid plastic floor for parking. The finish color defined in each constructive element: slabs, walls and solid framework for the facade in white painted concrete, fences and metal paint finish in black, wall-coverings in natural wood.
