La cresta, Surf bar.

A versatile and open space that hosts different activities: a bar, a patio, sale of surf equipment and plants, and exhibitions by local artists.

 This project is located in a corner store that opens onto two streets and an outdoor community patio.

The backyard, before the renovation, had no direct connection to the bar and could only be accessed from the street. Now, with the reform, a shoring is created on the façade with two UPN horizontal steel beams. To achieve the maximum opening and to generate permeability and better lighting inside.

The intervention, with the removal of the false ceilings, reveals the existing structure. A concrete portico structures the space in three areas: the bar and entrance space, the kitchen and toilets and the patio outside.

The bar and entrance.

That space acts as a threshold between the street and the central space of the bar. The ceiling with hanging plants and the furniture in the shape of round tables, gives a fresh, festive and relaxed atmosphere.

The kitchen and toilets.

A space is built within the premises that acts as a container for the server spaces: kitchen, storage cabinets and toilets. For this piece of furniture a light framework of pine wood has been used, achieving a relationship between the inside and outside of the doors, openings and windows to improve the living conditions. The space is transformed thanks to a system of folding tables that allow it to be folded easily, achieving an open space for events, parties and exhibitions.

The backyard.

It works as a second threshold between the street and the interior of the bar. A large pergola with deciduous vegetation allows you to enjoy good shade in summer and good sunshine in winter. Furniture of different dimensions and geometries creates a convivial space where both adults and children meet in their living space. For paving, the material from the crushed demolition has been used as if it were " gravel " and thus recycle the waste giving it a use and saving the final cost of the work.
