Uslu Architects designed the 90 square metre office for Lapis Chem in Istanbul’s Kartal Bumerang building. The brief was to bring together the company’s daily working needs and its identity in a compact space, with room for both focused work and meetings.
The plan includes a shared workspace for three employees, a separate accounting room and a private executive office with an integrated meeting area. As visitors come to the office primarily to meet with the executive, the entrance corridor was designed to guide them directly towards this room. Its form takes its cue from the building’s exterior geometry, making the route to the meeting area part of the architectural concept while keeping the other workspaces apart from visitor circulation.
Organic forms introduce a softer movement through the interior. Green tones reference Lapis Chem’s identity and provide a consistent visual thread across the office. Lighting and natural materials were considered alongside the plan to create a pleasant setting for everyday work.
The result brings the team’s shared workspace, accounting room and executive meeting area together within 90 square metres, with a clear route for visitors and distinct areas for the people who work there.
