The new Live's headquarters project updates the traditional headquarters of the company to a new hybrid space, which is flexible, without fixed workstations and adaptable to different demands, in anticipation to the global movement of changes in corporate spaces due to the expansion of employees working from home. To ensure this customizable use, a detachable furniture line was designed to allow the use of different compositions to better adapt the activities at the space. All pieces can be retracted into the main furniture, a shelf that extends from the first floor to the mezzanine, and through a system of curtains and supports, it organizes and provides all the essential items to different activities.
The brand's visual language has been included in the environment through the use of a concise set of materials and colors. The perforated metal sheet and the yellow, the main color of the brand, represent the identity of the project, and visually associate the spaces through key elements that stand out over the predominance of neutral tones. The choice of Paricá plywood in the furniture, burnt cement, the wood on the floor, the gray granite in the Café, natural fibers of carpets, off-white curtains, mezzanine slab, and the whitepainted roof provide an inviting and cozy environment.
Searching for the dialogue with the community, it was designed a wooden bench that extends to the edge of the lot and the street and goes back to the sidewalk, inviting people that are passing by, or the employees of the agency, to sit down, have some coffee or wait for their ride. Also in the external area of the house, a large open deck makes a gradual transition between external and internal making it convenient for informal meetings and spontaneous events.
The first floor has a huge lounge and an open-to-the-public Café positioned at the entrance of the house. There is also a creation room that can be easily made into a dance floor and an internal garden that provides natural light and the contact of employees and customers with the greenery, allowing direct exchange of air between the internal and external areas, a fundamental element for collective well-being. For all spaces, we considered receiving plants of various sizes, aiming to make the environment more pleasant.
The main element is the shelf that extends itself from the first floor to the mezzanine and due to the positioning of the curtains, it makes it possible to create the ideal scenario for each of the different uses of the space. Designed with light shelves produced in perforated sheet metal, cork panels, and supports strategically positioned, the bookcase can offer the necessary support material for the daily life and the events as well as the removable furniture designed especially for the project.
For small and medium meetings, where the use of notebooks and laptop computers is necessary, the tables remain assembled. For large meetings, events, lectures, and classes it is possible to set up small auditoriums, on the first floor and mezzanine. The media and video transfer equipment was strategically positioned to allow these activities. The project, following the adaptability concept, provides more private spaces, such as a meeting room for up to 10 people and a phone booth on each floor to be used for calls or online meetings.
Furniture Live by Estudio Guto Requena
The Live furniture line was based on the adaptability and lightness of its elements. The furniture was built in Paricá plywood, with cut outfitting details in CNC. In the details, we see the agency's logo in acrylic in a color similar to the yellow from the Live brand. The family is composed of three types of tables: the largest one for six people and the two smallest ones, a square one and a round one for two to four people. There are also two models of the bench, one for three or four people and an individual one, which can also be used as a side table.
All the pieces are structured only by fits and can be disassembled and retracted individually in the rack, in their respective supports.
