Madison Avenue Duplex

Tailored in a contemporary style, this project emulates the luxurious experience of prewar elegance with the fluidity of a modern plan and custom furnishings. Completely renovated and reconfigured this 7,500 SF duplex on New York's Upper East Side was designed for a young family with 4 children. A palette of creams and warm grays with deep wood floors and cerused oak paneling unite the four main public spaces within this prewar duplex. In addition to the paneling, full height operable resin panels were designed to define and conceal individual spaces.  The resin panels can be opened fully to create an overall cohesive flow within the public rooms.  Undulating ceilings with surface mounted antique Gio Ponte light fixtures were designed to create a rhythm within the existing exposed beams.
