Mangrove Gym

In the past, fitness centers were places to build heavy muscles to pursue external beauty or manage health through simple aerobic exercise. However, in recent years, the goals of individual exercise have diversified and the balance of beauty and health has become important, and more professional and one-on-one guidance-oriented PT shops have become popular. Mangrove Gym is also an exercise facility operated on detailed personal guidance in terms of kinetic dynamics rather than relying on exercise equipment.

Hannam-dong, where the space is located, is another wealthy village in Seoul, attracting attention as a cultural diversity of Itaewon and UN Village, as well as the residence of young emerging wealthy people who prefer art due to the concentration of art galleries and galleries.

Until now, the mainstream has been that these exercise facilities were generally created with a dynamic atmosphere rather than a design based on unique branding and spatial concepts. Therefore, in order to create Mangrove Gym's unique spatial branding, it took consideration and effort in various aspects, ranging from the trainer's guidance method, the function and role of the exercise equipment, and the operation method.

First, it was a start from the question of the three essence (body, exercise, and goal) of PT SHOP. The body was interpreted as a system and structure, motion was interpreted as a concept of ideal and aesthetics in terms of physics and mechanics. On this basis, five spatial languages were selected. The first is coziness for the atmosphere of exercising in a private space. The second is the scalability expandability of sharing one's body with the mirror used due to the functional nature of the space through SNS. The third is smartness through professional systematic guidance and digital information provision. The fourth is artistry art, which refers to regional characteristics, mechanical aesthetic aspects, values, and dignity felt in exercise equipment. The last fifth is color for initiative, uniqueness, and ventilation.

Inside, integrated furniture that combines counseling, measurement, work, and rest areas becomes the center of the space. This huge integrated furniture is a concept of mechanical aesthetics and is designed so that two large circular wheels serving as partitions connect lighting and bat eggs and create dynamic production. Inevitably, the entering mirror was installed only in the necessary area as much as possible or moved according to the arrangement of exercise equipment. The axis of the ceiling that divides space not only distinguishes between the movement line and the area of the instrument, but also the track where the circular ceiling mirror can move to see the horizontality of the body. The mirror is equipped with a smart mirror that provides information such as weather and time. The wood floring used on the floor and walls has an overall finish, creating a comfortable atmosphere, and the fluorescent green used as a point color can revitalize. The aerobic exercise room painted in green to give a fresh feeling is clearly distinguished from the main space. The somewhat narrow changing room and shower room are designed to be used more reasonably by carefully grasping each function and movement.
