McMillan Shakespeare Sydney embodies a tailored extension of the client’s national workplace strategy, carefully designed to support evolving ways of working through a highly flexible and wellbeing-focused environment. The workplace has been created as a compelling destination for staff, encouraging team connectivity, collaboration and innovation through a series of tech-enabled collaboration zones, adaptable meeting spaces and dynamic social areas that support both focused and informal interactions.
The design responds to the changing nature of hybrid work by providing a variety of settings that accommodate different working styles and user needs throughout the day. Flexibility and functionality are central to the workplace experience, ensuring staff can move seamlessly between collaborative activities, individual work and social connection within a cohesive and welcoming environment.
The design narrative is anchored in a sense of passion and energy, expressed through the use of natural materials, vibrant pigments and richly textured finishes inspired by the local Sydney context. Layered materiality and carefully curated detailing create warmth and authenticity throughout the space, while reinforcing a strong connection to place and culture.
Sustainability was prioritised across the project, with locally sourced materials and furniture integrated throughout the workplace to support responsible design outcomes and reduce environmental impact. The result is a refined and inviting space that reflects McMillan Shakespeare’s values, supports hybrid working practices and fosters a meaningful connection to nature and wellbeing.
