To bring this vision to life, the design team sought a flooring solution capable of delivering both a refined aesthetic and the technical performance required in a contemporary workplace. Fashionable Antique White cork flooring from Wicanders, the flooring brand of Amorim Cork Solutions, proved to be the ideal choice for this project, contributing to an environment that balances design, comfort and performance.

With its light, natural appearance and distinctive cork texture, the floor introduces warmth and authenticity to the interior, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere while complementing the workspace's sophisticated material palette.

Beyond its visual appeal, cork flooring was selected for the performance it brings to modern office environments. By combining the unique properties of cork across its multiple layers, Wicanders flooring offers excellent acoustic performance, reducing footstep noise by up to 38%. This helps minimize the sound generated by everyday movement, creating quieter workspaces that support concentration and collaboration. Its natural elasticity also provides greater walking comfort, helping to reduce fatigue while minimizing the impact of dropped objects and protecting them from damage.

Indoor air quality was another important consideration in material selection. Certified according to strict VOC emission standards, Wicanders cork flooring features low VOC emissions, helping create healthier indoor environments and making it an ideal choice for workplaces where employee well-being is a priority.

The Connective Head Office demonstrates how material selection can play a decisive role in shaping contemporary workplaces. By integrating cork flooring into the project, the design successfully balances aesthetics, functionality and occupant well-being, illustrating how thoughtful material choices can enhance both the performance and the experience of the built environment.
