Melting of was conceived from a playful, imaginative narrative-Blabbit, a black rabbit character, crash-landed on Earth from outer space. The project takes its name from this quirky backstory and centers around the concept of "melting comfort."
In line with this theme, the interior is designed to evoke a sense of relaxed coziness, as if everything inside is softly melting. The space is defined by a monochromatic black and white palette rich in texture, serving as a calm, grounding base. Within this framework, visual cues of melting are subtly incorporated through curves and fluid forms.
The design emphasizes intuitive, organic shapes without going overboard. Curved walls transition into patterned flooring, suggesting a slow, melting flow. This same language continues into the ceiling, creating a seamless volumetric experience that blurs the boundaries between surfaces.
To reflect the personality of Blabbit, small design details were added throughout the space-like switches, handles, and curtains shaped like black ribbons. These elements reinforce the identity of the character and add a playful coherence to the environment.
Ultimately, our goal was to express the idea of "melting" not just visually, but atmospherically-by crafting a space where soft shapes and gentle transitions invite visitors into a dreamlike sense of comfort.
