MINIVERSOS STORE

Located within a street-facing building characterized by an irregular layout and multiple windows and doors, the project was commissioned by a game store deeply rooted in board game and Lego communities. The fundamental objective of the design was to create a dedicated space for game enthusiasts.

The design approach is based on two fundamental strategies:

1. Rethink the existing conditions, particularly the walls and openings, in order to maximize their spatial potential;

2. Create an organized and intuitive exhibition route that enhances the playful universe of board games and Lego.

These guiding principles are reflected in several design decisions. First, existing openings, such as windows and doors, inform and structure the design of the furniture that complements them. In response to the irregular geometry of the space, the reception desk is positioned obliquely in relation to the main spatial axes. Through this diagonal element, visitors are naturally guided from the foyer into a corridor filled with game displays. This intervention introduces a smoother movement and a more fluid visual experience.

Furthermore, the design develops a more expressive furniture element, a big wall shelf, inspired by the offset stacking of Lego pieces. Its display units open in opposite directions, allowing different objects to be shown depending on the point of view. This variation structures the exhibition route of the store, allowing visitors to engage with the displays in different moments of discovery — encountering part of the collection in one direction and the remaining pieces along the return path. As a result, visitors are offered a rich and engaging experience within a small and limited floor area.

Finally, the project creates a playful atmosphere through its materiality and color inspired by the exhibited objects. At the same time, the use of studded flooring, typical of buildings of this nature and period, establishes a clear analogy with Lego geometry through its circular pattern.

Thus, the project tries to transform an empty limited space into a dynamic and colourful environment, in which visitors can be immersed into the imaginative worlds of board games and Lego.
