The first of three major projects by Lumsden for MoMA Retail, the Design Store is across West 53rd Street from The Museum of Modern Art in NYC and was the store’s first refurbishment in 18 years.

Lumsden designed the new store for MoMA to create a refreshed look for the iconic store that enhances the Design Store’s role in celebrating the Museum’s mission of making great design accessible to everyone.

The design, awarded German Design Award Winner 2019, has successfully revived the store’s appeal to its core audience as well as to the MoMA visitor from across the road and now displays a more curated and refined approach to the merchandising of its product range.
