Our alliance of three architects, Architectuurstudio HH (Amsterdam), Ibos Vitart (Paris) and Rapp + Rapp (Rotterdam), each with their own characteristic features, has led to a deliberately hybrid structure, a unique three-unit in which the three identities of a music building, a theatre and dance building, conservatory, each have come as fully as possible into their own.

These three components are fused into an urban planning unit by the space organization of the common areas. There are openings between the three components, functioning as ‘urban fenêtres’, which ensure the transparency of the whole. These holes make the building as it were porous and permeable for sunlight.
