It was announced recently that our office in Krakow, be ddjm Krakòv, has won the international competition held by the municipal authorities against twenty-four competitors.“The project stands out for the formal clarity of the compact structure”, as the jury observes. The “reticent, minimalist idiom of the architecture” is another aspect worthy of emphasis. The core of the centre is the concert hall for 1000 visitors, accompanied by an auditorium seating 300 and a stand-alone foyer, all arranged together to form an L-shape.
In terms of dimensions, the new music centre with a usable floor space of 10,000 square metres fits in seamlessly with the leafy setting of Krakow’s Cichy Kącik district. The new centre by be ddjm Krakòv is scheduled for completion in 2023.
