This neoclassical family house in Limassol, Cyprus was designed as a calm, symmetrical and quietly luxurious home for a family that wanted classical proportion without heaviness. The brief asked for a contemporary reading of the classical language: mouldings, panelled walls and cornices used as structure rather than ornament, in a palette of warm ivory, soft grey, deep botanical green and brushed brass.
The living room is organised around a central fireplace and a panelled media wall, with a crystal chandelier setting the vertical axis and a pair of upholstered wing chairs framing the seating group. Ivory sheers and emerald velvet curtains soften the Mediterranean light that Limassol enjoys almost all year, while full-height glazing keeps the garden present in every view.
In the kitchen and dining area the classical framework becomes more relaxed: deep green cabinetry with fluted glass fronts, marble-effect worktops and splashback, and a round dining table placed directly against the garden window. The bedrooms, dressing area and bathrooms continue the same restrained detailing - panelled headboard walls, layered lighting, natural stone and brass fittings.
Every element was documented in a complete set of working drawings and specifications, and the studio supervised procurement and site work through to installation, which is how the classical detailing stayed crisp on a Cypriot construction site.
