The "Gagon" at 6 Elizabeth Berger St. in Tel Aviv is the first building built in Israel forHomeless people.
The building was founded by the Tel Aviv Foundation for Development in collaboration with "Lasova" NPO
The concept behind the building is "human dignity". Maintaining the privacy of homeless people and providing hope for their return to normal life.The view from the windows can perhaps generate this hope.
The building has 3 floors, an entrance courtyard and a public façade facing a square.
The building was built on a plot of 750 sqm, includes 3 floors with total area of 1450 square meters. The night shelter is an urban building that located on a public square.
The building provides a place for overnight stay to homeless people and includes quality facilities for all residents.
- Accommodation rooms are planned for 144 residents.
- Showers and toilets for every 2 rooms.
- Dining room and kitchen for 60 diners.
- Workshop rooms with a sea view.
- Rooftop balconies for meetings and activities.
- Offices and coordinators' rooms.
- A separate wing of offices and commerce facing the square.
