After the demolition of a Neo-Gothic church, an inner courtyard with a playground, lawn and football goals was created in the Monicahof in Utrecht. In this green oasis there was room for a small apartment complex. To integrate this building into its green environment as well as possible, we opted for round shapes and timber frame construction. The result is a residential tower with eight apartments of 50m². The complex is clearly present in the court, but it does not dominate, because it follows the existing building line. Inside the apartments, a block in the middle of the room - containing kitchen and bathroom - ensures an efficient layout.
