Ondine Apartment is a three-room space that we took over an in advanced stage, with finishes already completed - parquet, doors, and finished walls. This interior design project, defined by elegant curved forms, was build upon a neutral structure that provided the perfect framework for a stylistic exploration that took an unexpected trajectory. At first, the client was drawn to a refined, almost a classic style, with neutral tones and dark wood. She was somewhat hesitant about curved shapes, bolder colors, or decorative details. However, as the creative process unfolded, she began to discover the charm of undulating lines, fluid shapes, and a more playful yet sophiscated aesthetic. 

This evolution led to a balanced concept: a simple backdrop of monochrome walls, onto which feminine accents and shapes inspired by the apartment`s existing curved elements, such as curved ceilings, were introduced. We integrated these curves into the wall frames as well, creating a subtle harmony between classic and organic. The living room bookcase, the central piece of the space, combines practical storage with a wavy aesthetic and mirrored details. In contrast, the desk opposite it continues the narrative with an oraganic form designed as a composition of interconnected circular arcs.

The desk is not only functional but also sculptural, featuring a cylindrical leg in a desaturated lavander tone that hides storage space, along with an auxilary unit for the printer. We maintained the theme of circles and semicircles both in volumetry and in the details, creating a cohesive yet lively aesthetic. 

In the hallway and kitchen, the original finish - a marble style tile - was covered with microcement, including the TV wall. We added a sliding door with rounded lines, inspired by Art Deco, to define the kitchen area. The kitchen itself has a calm expression, with warm grey cabinetry that harmonizes perfectly with the parquet and the sideboard in the living room.

The bedroom continues this narrative thread: serene, featuring a rounded headboard, a subtly profiled wall, the Moustache bench, and accents of blue and aubergine. The dressing room, open and cheerful, uses mirror as the main element to amplify light and the sense of space.

Ondine is the result of an interior journey - of the courage to step outside familiar patterns and transform a home into an authentic expression of the self.
