The interiors of One Hudson Yards establish a new paradigm for creating a sense of calm in thoughtful apartments and for designing communal amenity areas that provide residents with a sense of place, comfort, and connection. The goal for the interiors of this 32-story, 325,000-square-foot tower was to create spaces that could encourage inhabitants to use the building as their own and foster a community spirit.
A textural palette of artisanal materials and custom-designed elements integrates art and craftsmanship. In the lobby, a 25-foot-long feature wall of cast bronze panels complements the curated art collection, including two cast-bronze pieces by the artist Michel François—Scribble and Instant Gratification—which were made at the same fine-art foundry. Above these, Lasvit’s light sculpture Precious Moments, composed of 400 hand-blown glass components, spirals through the space, echoing the rich organic qualities and distinctive colors of the bronze wall panels. Cohesive in its geometries, themes, colors, and materials, the lobby creates an inviting emotional threshold to One Hudson Yards.
The amenity spaces include the lobby, party rooms and lounges for residents, galleries, entertainment venues, exterior terraces, and recreational facilities such as a gym with a basketball court, a spa-like pool, and a bowling alley. The design of each of these rooms is inspired by the contemporary geometries and architecture of Hudson Yards and the organic qualities of the adjacent High Line.
