Ovenvande ("above waters") is a transformation of an old commercial area to a vibrant an urban cityscape. Next to the town center and the nearby lakes and forests in the charming town of Skanderborg, Denmark.

In a time where most of the contemporary urban developments tend to be driven by contractors and financial developers, Ovenvande is an example of how to develop inner city housing, with the focus on not only well designed apartments, but also on the life between the buildings and the interaction between private and public space.

Parking is placed on the outskirts of the site, allowing all the streets and squares to be for pedestrians and urban living. Enhanced by a strong architectural nerve, with buildings and rooflines moving in all directions.
